Ribbed Soap Sleeve

This pattern is being posted to keep you busy while the winners for the giveaway are chosen!! I can't wait to finish this and share who won! And yes, there will be multiple winners! ;) Keep your eyes out for the posting.

Until then... make up some of these super soft, super convient soap sleeves! No more slipper soap falling into the water for us ;)

Hook: H
Materials: I Love This Cotton
Gauge: There isn't really a gauge for this project, the overall size should fit a bar of soap, adjust hook size if it comes out to big or to small. 

Sc2tog – this does not serve the purpose of a decrease in this project

Round 1) Ch 7, 2 sc in 2^nd ch from hook, sc in next 4 st, 4 sc in last st, sc in next 4 st down other side, 2 sc in last st, join to first sc with sl st – 16 st

Row 1) ch 1, sc2tog, ch 13, sl st in 2^nd ch from hook, sl st in every st down

Row 2) (no ch 1 on this end because the sc2tog serves that purpose) sc2tog, working in last st of previous sc2tog and next st (so you are only using 1 new st), sl st in back loop of previous row, ch 1, sl st in back loop back down the row

Row 3-16) Repeat row 2

Join first and last rows of sl st together with sl st

Round 1) Ch 1, sc in first st, ch 1, *sc in next st, ch 1* around, join to first sc with sl st

Round 2) Sl st into first ch 1 sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 1, *sc in next sp, ch 1*around, join to first sc with sl st

Round 3 - 4) repeat round 2

Round 5) Sl st into first ch 1 sp, ch 3, dc in first sp, ch 1, *dc in next next, ch 1* around, join to first dc with sl st

Tie: Ch 41, sl st in 2^nd ch from hook, sl st to end, tie off. Weave through round 5 of sleeve. Tie the two ends of the slip stitch strand together. Pull it tight and place on wrist to use. Loosen to change soap.

To make the entire sleeve look like row 2:

Round 1) Ch 7, 2 sc in 2^nd ch from hook, sc in next 4 st, 4 sc in last st, sc in next 4 st down other side, 2 sc in last st, join to first sc with sl st – 16 st

Row 1) ch 1, sc2tog, ch 26, sl st in 2^nd ch from hook, sl st in every st down

Row 2) (no chain 1), sc2tog working in last st of previous sc2tog and next st (so you are only using 1 new st), sl st in back loop of previous row, ch 1, sl st in back loop back down the row

Row 3 - 16) Repeat row 2

Join first and last rows of sl st together with sl st.

Round 1) Ch 3, *dc between sl st row, ch 1, skip next space between sl st row* around, join to first dc with sl st

Tie: Ch 41, sl st in 2^nd ch from hook, sl st to end, tie off. Weave through round 5 of sleeve. Tie the two ends of the slip stitch strand together. Pull it tight and place on wrist to use. Loosen to change soap.
