Hints & Tips
-
When you do the two fpdc in the same st make
sure the second fpdc goes behind the first fpdc – this will push Color A to the
front and create a consistent look.
-
It doesn’t matter what type of join you use for
this hat, I used a slip stitch join.
-
When switching colors, when you bring up the
color you are changing to, place it under the former working yarn and that yarn
over. If you do this every time it will twist as you go and the strands can
easily be separated by grabbing both strands, one in each hand, and pulling.
They will “un-twirl”.

Deleteyour hands were too far away to see the detail of the crucial foundation. Would you consider re-recording with a closer zoom
ReplyDeleteThis video took me days to record. It isn't something I will be able to record any time soon though I will take this as a learning experience to improve future videos! What part of the pattern are you struggling with? I may be able to take an upclose image for you. :)
Deleteneat beanie, thanks for sharing....
ReplyDeleteI can't find the amount of yarn that is used. Can you give an estimated weight or length?
ReplyDeleteThank you :-)
I'm not sure of the yardage. Weight is a 4. Just a regular medium weight yarn. For yards, I'd say about 250 yards total?
DeleteAwesome video! I am in the process of making an adult hat. Thanks for sharing . God bless you.
