  1. I love this idea ive made it for my nephew in seahawk colors (football team) and i was wondering on the brim did you use 2 strands of yarn in all 3 rows or just the first. When i tried using 2 strands in all 3 the brim waved instead of curved but when i only used 2strands on the first pass it worked better. Anyway ill post the finished hat for you tomorrow! Thanks for sharing!,

    1. I used the 2 strands for the entire thing. How badly does it wave? I would suggest skipping how often you put 2 stitches in 1 stitch if it starts to wave.

So for example... for the first row say you did 1 stitch in 1 stitch and then 2 in the next... then in the second row you did 1 stitch in 2 stitches only doubling every 2 stitches... if it starts to wave, do 3 stitches with only one stitch instead.

      Does that make sense?

And I would love to see a photo!!! Definitely share. :)

  2. It waved pretty bad i tried it with 2 different yarns to see if it was the yarn or if it was me. when i redid it with just the first row double stranded it worked alot better. Im having a fart on how to link the pic on your blog but it is on my FB page Rashan Elaine Edwards with a mention of your pattern. i will keep trying!

    1. It's great that you found a way that worked. What size beanie were you making? It's possible that a larger size would be slightly different! I'm still working on perfecting a method of doing the brim as sometimes it will wave for me as well and other times it won't wave at all. Trial and error LOL

I'll see if I can find the page!

  3. I need to adjust the size for an older (9 month old) baby and am unsure how to adjust for that. You said I could adjust the gauge but i don't see your original gauge so I know what to adjust from. Do you have a pattern for different sizes? or could you let me know what your original gauge was? Thank you, Roxanne

    1. I don't have a pattern for different sizes at this time. I used an H hook to start off with. I'd increase the beanie by doing an additional "add on round" by dc in next 3, 2 dc in same around and then get it to the length you need... then adjust the brim by 3 -4 st on each side.

      I hope this helps :)
