Row 27 – Desired
length) Continue repeating the pattern by repeating
the last 2 rows increasing the repeat instructions by 1 every other row until you
meet the desired shawl size – I continued until row 83 making my final row 84.
Last row/edging: This edging
will be done after a final repeat of the row that uses shell 1
Final row) Ch 1, turn, sc
in 1st st, hdc in next 2 st, dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in
next st, *sl st in next st, sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in next st, hdc
in next st, sc in next st*, repeat from *-* to ending, ending with a sl st, sc,
hdc, dc, hdc in next 2 st, sc in last st.
A lovely pattern and one that a beginner can make. One of the first patterns I made was a baby blanket using the shell stitch. I believe I found it on Bev's country cottage.
