3 Star Applique Patterns

Hook: G

Material: Cotton (or any)

Gauge: Non-essential

Special stitches:

-          Beginning triangle stitch - YO, pick up a loop in first st, YO, pick up a loop in next st, YO, pick up a loop in next st, YO and pull through all 7 loops on hook

-          Triangle stitch - YO, pick up a loop in previous worked st, YO, pick up a loop in next st, YO, pick up a loop in next st, YO and pull through all 7 loops on hook

Hints & Tips:

-          Larger hooks/materials will produce larger stars and vice versa

-          On star C, the final point will be worked using the last 2 st and the first st

Star A: red

Round 1) Using magic circle, sc 10, pull tight, join to first sc with sl st – 10 sc

Round 2) Ch 1, 2 sc in every st around, join to first sc with sl st, tie off  – 20 sc

Point 1) Join in any st with sc, sc in next 3 st, ch 1, turn, sc in next st, sc2tog, sc in last st, ch 1, turn, sc3tog, tie off

Points 2 – 5) Join in next st with a sc, sc in next 4 st, ch 1, turn, sc in next st, sc2tog, sc in last st, ch 1, turn, sc3tog, tie off

Weave in ends/trim

Star B: white

Round 1) Using magic circle, sc 10, pull tight, join to first sc with sl st – 10 sc

Round 2) Ch 1, 2 sc in every st around, join to first sc with sl st, tie off  – 20 sc

Point 1) Join in any st with sc, sc in next 3 st, ch 1, turn, sc2tog twice, ch 1, turn, sc2tog, tie off

Point 2 – 5) Join in next st with sc, sc in next 3 st, ch 1, turn, sc2tog twice, ch 1, turn, sc2tog, tie off

Weave in ends/trim

Star C: blue

Round 1) Using magic circle, sc 5, pull tight, join to first sc with sl st – 5 sc

Round 2) Ch 1, 2 sc in every st around, join to first sc with sl st, tie off – 10 sc

Point 1) Beginning triangle st, tie off.
