Spring Time Booties

These littles booties are Spring/Easter inspired! Enjoy.

Hook: I
Materials: Red Heart Super Saver
Gauge: 3 Rows & 3 Stitches = 1 Inch

Size: Newborn

Sole:

Round 1) Ch 9, 2 sc in 2^nd ch from hook, sc in next 3 st, hdc in next 2 st, dc in next st, 5 dc in last st, dc in next st (working on opposite side) hdc in next 2 st, sc in next 3 st, sc in last st (same as st first worked), join to first sc with sl st – 21 st

Round 2) Ch 1, 2 sc in next 2 st, sc in next 6 st, 2 sc in next 5 st, sc in next 6 st, 2 sc in last st, join to first sc with sl st – 29 sc

Body of shoe:

Round 3) Ch 1, sc in back loop of every st around, join to first sc with sl st – 29 sc

Round 4) Ch 1, sc in next 10 st, dc dec 5 times, sc in every st to end, join to first sc with sl st – 24 sc

Round 5) Ch 1, sc in next 8 st, sl st in next 2 st, ch 6, skip next 5 st, join to 6^th st from hook with sl st, sl st in next st, sc to end, join to first sc with sl st – 15 sc

Round 6) Ch 1, sl st in next 6 st, sl st in next st, ch 6, sl st 2 st behind last ch (should be directly across start of ch), sl st in every st to end, join to first sl st with sl st, tie off.

Decorative edging:

Using the surface slip stitch technique, sl st a line around the bootie starting at the base of bootie ( where the line is showing from round 4 where you only sc in the back loop). With a different color, repeat this step at the base of the round on top of the one you just did.

Round 5) Ch 1, sc in next 13 st, dc dec in next 2 st, dc in next st, dc dec in next st, sc to end, join to first sc with sl st – 27 st

Round 6) Ch 1, sc in next 10 st, sl st in next st, ch 5, sk next 5 st, sl st in 6^th st from hook, sl st in next st, sc to end, join to first sc with sl st – 18 sc

Round 7) Ch 1, sl sc in next 9 st, ch 5, sl st in 2^nd st from last ch (so the second ch goes straight across), sl st to end, join to first sl st with a sl st, tie off.

Round 3) Ch 1, *sc in next st, 2 sc in next st* repeat three times, sc in next 8 sc, *sc in next st, 2 sc in next st* 5 times, sc in next 8 st, sc in next st, 2 sc in last st, join to first sc with sl st – 46 sc

Body of shoe:

Round 4) Ch 1, sc in next st around in back loop only, join to first sc with sl st – 46 sc

Round 5) Ch 1, sc in next 17 st, *dc dec in next 2 st, dc in next st* 5 times, sc to end, join to first sc with sl st – 41 sc

Round 6) Ch 1, sc in next 17 st, *dc dec in next 2 st* 5 times, sc to end, join to first sc with sl st – 36 sc

Round 7) Ch 1, sc in next 15  st, sl st in next 2 st, ch 7 st, skip next 5 st, sl st in 6^th st from ch, sl st in next 2 st, sc in next st to end, join to first sc with sl st – 25 sc

Round 8) Ch 1, sl st in next 13+* st, ch 7 st, sl st in 3 st behind previous ch (should be directly across from first side of ch and look even), sl st to end, join to first sl st with sl st, tie off.
